and FYI - here is 'my opinion' of what happened since you voiced yours.
I believe Mary knew the profecies concerning Christ, I believe she knew much of what would happen, and that she would be the mother of the Savior.
however, I do think there is a difference between 'knowing something will happen', and living through it.
I'm sure she was spiritually prepared, however, she was not 'perfect' or 'God'. she was a sinner, and human just like us. she was also in need of the Atonement.

I don't know what you think you've exposed me as. I'm a pretty straight forward person. I don't hide behind religion or pretend to be a "good Christian". I have an opinion, & I gave it. No one has to agree with it; in fact, I know many do not (including my husband, but he's somewhat blinded by his mom, Martin Luther & that whole Reformation thing). And I wouldn't trust YouTube as a source either per se, however, the references include Bible passages to which anyone with a Bible may refer.

And I agree with your point to an extent, however I (and I know others obviously disagree) do not believe that Mary was in need of Atonement for she was without stain, without sin, and therefore Immaculate.

that is an assumption of the situation. it is referred to as an 'immaculate' conception. that does not, in anyway way, state the mother of Christ was or was not without sin.
also the Bible does not refer to it as an immaculate conception that is a term man has used for it.
while it may be your opinion that is true, which we are all entitled to our opinions, I have seen no proof of you claim in the Bible.
if you have passages please do share. I mean to keep this in the KJV Bible.

My husband is becoming an even smarter man who now acknowledges the anti-semetic rhetoric of Martin Luther. I suspect it won't be long before he no longer calls himself a Lutheran. I'm honestly not in the mood to look up references (which makes me a crappy debater, I know), and I'm certainly not one to memorize & throw out Bible quotes whenever it's convenient. At the end of the day it's all about faith; no amount of banter or interpretation of quotes is going to change that.

if the spirit has whispered them to your heart nobody should be able to sway them as they are of God. only you know / can determine this.

Just my thoughts in response to some comments I read, I'm not debating wether Mary was or was not sinless, but I wanted to say that whatever any religion claims, if it's not in the Bible, it is not so important. You don't need to memorize Scriptures just to spu them out whenever, but you should know what the Scriptures say, otherwise, what are you believing? I encourage everyone to search the Scriptures and find out for themselves. If you seek, you will find.

Sorry to barge in, but I couldn't help but see you blaspheming the Word of God, piefrance. Mary was not without sin, because the bible is clear when it says "all have sinned ", "there is none that doeth good" and that include Jesus' earthly mother. As such, she was in need of atonement, for the blood of Jesus Christ was shed for the whole world, including his own household. Just as sin entered this world through one man, Adam, it took Jesus Christ through his obedience on the cross to defeat it.

Jesus defeated the power of sin and death, through his obedience and sacrifice on the cross. And it is only He can save you and it is only He who shares the same glory and power as our Father in heaven. No one else does, not even Mary. Only Jesus can grant eternal life, because he rose from the dead. I pray that you turn away from idolatry and behold the son who is the only way to the Father.

You are soooooo right that Christ reigns, and sooooo wrong about Mary. Please know that all who believe in Mary and her birth and Jesus' birth are NOT blasphemers. Mary is not worshipped or adored but given the greatest honor, and venerated as the pure Mother of Jesus, and Our Blessed Mother.

I will call a blasphemy when it is a blasphemy, and I will call a lie when it is a lie and when idolatry, i will call it idolatry. When you say Mary is "pure" you make Jesus a liar. Because Jesus said "there is none good but God". And when you call Mary as "Blessed Mother" you are blaspheming God because you have no Master or Father except the God in heaven. Mary is not our blessed mother, neither did she claim that title.

Mary became the mother of John, when Jesus looked at him while on the cross and said "Behold your mother". At that moment her role as a mother became towards John. Jesus only spoke of a Father. He said "He was from above, and not of this world". But you make Mary, an earthly woman to be out of this world. Is that not blasphemy?

This is an absolutely beautiful, spiritual song. Am I the only one that is offended by the words, "the dumb will speak"? In this day and time, 2009, I am sure that it would be more acceptable and politically correct to say, "the mute will speak". There are almost 1,000,000 functionally deaf people in the United States today. Isn't it time to do away with the outdated word "dumb"? How hurtful that word is, really, think about it.
